"Dreamers are mocked as impractical. The truth is they are the most practical, as their innovations lead to progress and a better way of life for all of us."
- Robin Sharma
YAMi

1. Acronym for Yves Andler Michel.
2. An introverted creative. Systems thinker. Visual communicator.

Artist by nature, designer by nurture. I have a fascination for innovation at the intersection of design, science, and technology. My career path has been unconventional, and it's what made it interesting; the diversity of experience. My work experience has touched many cultures of design: from consumer goods, to transportation, to architectural design in the United States and Canada. I have specialized as a conceptual designer, working on innovation/advanced teams and in the early stages of the design process on many projects.
In 2015, I completed my research at the Université de Montréal on Biomimicry and Innovation in Sustainable Design. My focus is now on Biodesign and emerging design approaches at the convergence of technology and biology. These approaches will inherently transform the discipline of design and increase the potential to create a symbiosis between the built and natural environment.
I have a deep appreciation for the cultures of Brazil, Japan and Scandinavia. Hockey, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira, Snowboarding, Mountain Biking and Samba de Gafiera have been vital parts of my active life. Lastly, I love Ducati motorcycles!

Le Studio YAMi Creative is an expression of my experience as a designer and artist. I now aim to expand beyond industrial design as a Creative.
